How to get a female to breed?
For females who have never bred before (5 or 6 years old), how do you exactly get them to breed for the first time? I heard placing the male in her tub will stimulate her to go into breeding mode. Just would like more info on this.
Thank you!

If she is ready she will breed. Just put a male in with her and let nature take its course.

Yes I agree, just put the male with the female. They will do what comes natural. You just have to be patient with them, as they have there own time schedule. Which is not as fast as we would like it to be. So just relax and have fun. They will breed as long as they are healthy and have the right conditions.

LOL seriously I put two pairs together this year, all 4 had never been bred, locks observed from both pairs within 48 hours. They know what to do!

Mon evening through Wed together, remove male on Thu (unless they are locked, in which case wait until they're done), offer food on Sat night, repeat.

Sometimes, adult ball pairs do not lock right away by just putting them together. But in these cases, it's usually the male who is not interested. Ball python courtship is male initiated, the females play a less active role. I have yet to see an adult female that refused a virile male, but i've seen a few passive males that do not show interest in courtship even when paired with proven females. There's a lot written on stimulating these males into breeding mode.

You will know when she is ready 99% if the time she will pee and scent the enclosure and it normals reeks more than usual... Try not to clean too often during breeding time, they tend to like it messy...
