How to secure a tub?
Sorry if this has already been posted, but I am getting a ball python and wanted to know the best way to secure a tub. I read about using Butterfly Clips, but I don't see how you would put it on the tub. If you could post a picture of how you secure your tub that would be nice! Thanks!

Re: How to secure a tub?
I use binder clips. Is that the same as butterfly clips?
I own
0.1 normal Padme
1.0 normal (first snake) Cave Johnson
0.1 het. pied Chell
1.0 het. pied Wheatley
1.0 Leopard gecko Muffin (given to me by my little sister, she named it)
As you can see, I name my snakes after Portal and Star Wars characters.
Soon (hopefully)
1.0 pinstripe
1.0 cornsnake (or 0.1)
1.0 BCI boa

Industrial strength Velcro, making sure you get a bin that clamps shut helps alot as well.

That's how I thought it was done. Thanks for the clarification!

You can also drill a hole through the side of the lid and tub and use screws to secure it.

another obvious solution, if the lid fits well and is sturdy enough: bricks. or books, something appropriately heavy.
or, like in a rack system: a cupboard where the inside height exactly matches the height of box + lid.
clips and clamps are fine.
but i would worry a bit about the velcro, if it ever comes loose its essentially tape, and very sticky.
