Heat mat and mini stat 100

Really really annoyed right now I have 2 royals, a norm and a yellow belly, my norm is in a viv with a heat mat with a mini stat 100 and gets to about 95°f which is what I set it to all fine yeah, now I've got my yellow belly male in a 9 litre rub on top of the viv with a seperate heat mat under this rub also in another separate mini stat 100, the stat is set as high as it will go and my mat is only hitting 81°f so I went and bought another brand new heat mat and the same thing is happening, can anyone give me any help plz thanks

Got to be an issue with the t stat. That would be my guess seeing that you went and bought a brand new heat mat

Does the viv have a hard top or screen? If its a mesh screen then the heat is dissipating from the bottom ofmthe heat mat. You can try a new stat or move the rub to a hard surface and see what happens. I would try that first if it doesn't work then get a new stat.
