Where is your thermostat sensor located? Are you using the habistat to control your heat mat?

With my UTHs I put my Tstat probe right on the heat mat (so on the outside taped to the heater) and keep adjusting the temp until I can get a temp gun temp of around 88-90 on the surface where the snake sits, not the mat itself. So the mat is going to be heated higher than what the actual snake will sit on in order to get the right temp.

As was previously mentioned, which I think you missed (so try to read carefully next time ), you'll want to test at the hottest possible spot where the snake can get. So in the middle of the UTH, inside the vive - so on the very bottom of the vive, where the UTH is located outside the vive.
