Best time to feed?

I'm trying to figure out what time of day is going to be the most successful for feeding my balls.

I haven't been that consistent with it, and I think that's making things slightly more difficult. Like it seems like there are times when I'll drop in a f/t rat, and the snake will still be sort of asleep and not respond.

I keep my lights on from 10-10 in their enclosures--should I feed at like 9:45 just before the lights go out?

Seriously they are nocturnal however with a strong routine of feeding the same day each week and or pre-scenting the room they can be fed at any time.

I feed mine when I get around to it, depends on work and how long it takes me to clean and pull out rodents.
