    New Rack system

I have built a 6 tier rack system out of 1/2in and 3/4in plywood. ive lined the back of the rack system with heat tape, i also have a thermostat on it. will the plywood cause any issues? i didnt think that the temps i keep the heat tap at would cause the wood to burn. any tips or information on this would help out a lot. thanks

The wood won't catch fire at the temps involved with heat tape. But I would seal all that wood with a water based paint/sealer. Plywood has all kinds of chemicals in the glue used to bond the plies together, which could be harmful to your snakes. Also, humidity might be a problem (warping your rack), but a good sealer will fix this. Good luck, I just built my first rack a month ago.

If it's latex base it SHOULD be ok. Just make sure to let it dry til you can't smell it, then wait another 4 or 5 days after that before using for your snakes.

that looks like melamine on my scratched up phone screen
You shouldn't have to seal that with anything, just add some edge banding for looks and edge durability of you want, not necessary though...
