first lock 2014, self conscious ball python?

Im so happy I got this lock, very excited. This is my pastel boy to just my normal girl, I mainly did this pair to get a good system down for later down the road because none of my morph girls are ready yet. Anywho I saw this lock when I got home and turned on the light, a couple minutes later I come back and they are not locked up, I turn off the light and come back a few minutes later on a hunch with a flashlight and he's locked again. Anyone else have snakes that only lock in the dark? Also he was almost lined up before I went to work so im wondering if it was likely successful

Congrats! I have a male who I've not seen a lock from yet! He was bought from a friend of mine as a proven breeder and I was told he likes to sneak in locks. So, with the female progressing nicely, I'm hoping that he's just been sneaking locks in.

So in answer to your question, I do have a sneaky/shy male who only locks when I'm not looking.

I thought it was odd lol. I didn't really expect him to lock yet since he's only 400 grams, but eating taking prey like crazy. I was hoping putting him with her now would help him produce sperm plugs, but I guess he was ready haha
