so I just moved from an area that had a really dry climate where I had to spray my ball pythons tank every day, to a moist climate that keeps her tank at a perfect 50-60 humidity. I was using this carpet that they make for tanks as her substrate ever since I got her but when I switched her into a different tank (after I cleaned and sanitized the tank) that carpet wouldn't fit anymore so I got her this bark type of substrate. I noticed it was scruffing up her scales a bit so I just switched to newspaper until I can find her something else. After about a week her her scales looked fine and I noticed she was going to shed soon so for about a week now I have been spraying her tank once a day just to up her humidity to around 70 which only ever lasts for a couple of hours at best before settling back down to 50-60 again. Just yesterday I noticed that half of her belly is really red and she is having a crappy shed. This is the first time she has ever had a bad shed and I have never seen her belly this red before. It turns pink for a little during her shedding time but never this red and looks a little funky too. There are no cuts, blisters, or signs of infection just very red and not normal looking for her. And like I said she has never had a problem shedding. I do have an under tank heater and one basking light but she has always had that same setup for 1 1/2 years and has never had a problem with that before. If anybody with experience in this type of matter can give me any suggestions or confirm that this is scale rot I would greatly appreciate it. I will post some pics as well but in the pics her belly looks way less red than it really does look in person. It looks like light pink in the photo but in person it looks almost blood red. Some pics show part of her upper half which is really white and her lower half which is very red.
