    Hey and Stuff

So I haven't really been active here lately. Lots of life events taking place on top of being ridiculously busy at work. But I finally have some downtime and thought I'd give you guys an update and what all is going on.

I'll go with the bad stuff first. My wife posted about it I think but my Mom died suddenly early last month. She was in the hospital for hip surgery and was getting ready to move to a rehab facility when she had a bleed on her brain that couldn't be fixed and led to her death. It caught all of us off guard. We had just talked to her that night and she was in good spirits for the first time since she'd been there. Then everything changed over night and she passed away the next day. It's hit my Dad pretty bad. They were married for 40 years. She was his check and balance so we are all trying to chip in to make sure he isn't alone all the time and all the finances are taken care of since she handled all that. What makes it worse is that she was looking so forward to being a grandmom. And now our child will not know either grandmother. Speaking of which...

Chanin is over 4 months preggers. We should know the gender next week at an ultrasound. Super excited. But now that we are expected I am having re-evaluate my snake hobby. As it is, I have 31 BPs including a clutch of 4 from December that should be ready to selling soon. I am really worried that the attention needed for the baby might cause unintentional neglect of the snakes since there are so many. So I have decided I need to downsize considerably. I am going to keep the ones I am most attached to and the projects I really want to happen. So I think I want to get down to around 15. That would be more manageable I think. It will also be financially better as there would be less mouths to feed and by bedding for. As it is I am spending $60-$80 a week on them.

Chanin is also thinking about getting rid of her Guinea Pigs as she hardly has time for them now and what little time she had would be gone with the baby. We also might get rid of a Chinese Water Dragon as well since it's a difficult animal to maintain.

    So that's where we are.

That would leave us with some snakes, our 2 rabbits, 2 cats, and a bird.

I disagree that you wouldn't have time. Babies sleep, eat, eliminate, and then sleep more.

    "Eliminate". That was my favourite.

To the OP, my condolences. Although I have not lost a parent, I have lost recently as well. Transitions - whether positive or negative - are difficult times.
Best of luck with your transitionary periods. I hope you find loving and caring owners for the animals you wish to rehome.
