Feeding Concerns

I have had my ball python now for about 4 month and has been a great eater until last week. He struck and rat got away and then the ball had nothing to do with him. The rat then died from internal bleeding. I went to feed to day and my ball didn't even strike just simply wasn't interested. I'm growing concerned since it's now been 3 weeks since he last fed and was always such a great eater before. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

How old is he? Sounds like breeding season fasting to me.

Could be this. My Ball seems to be fasting, he was eating fine until 3 weeks ago and then stopped.

Not 100% sure but I have had him for 4 month so I figure he was at least 2 months old when I got him. Another thing is he is way more active than he has ever been. Should I wait couple weeks before offering food? I just want to be sure he will be ok. Thanks

What is his weight? Do you know what it was before he stopped eating? Have you tried f/t or mice? If he missed the rat or they got into a fight in anyway he might be scared of them now. It happens. I'd give it a few days and try again. As long as he is active and he isn't obviously underweight then I wouldn't be too concerned at this point.

Not sure on his weights but he's not skinny by any stretch and now he has missed to feedings which is why I was concerned.

Two is not much to worry about. My normal female will one week, then not eat for 3. I would try a f/t maybe, but I'm really thinking time of year.
