LOL I'm not very patient either, which is why I don't have animals shipped in during the winter. You're in Chicago so your weather is worse for shipping than mine.

All that said, why worry? Someone else is now on the hook to feed and care for your snake until temperatures are safe to ship, even if it takes several weeks - and going by the current weather forecast it just might! With an animal like a horse or dog being shipped in, you'd be paying additional money for those services.

Re: What's the longest time you had to wait for a shipment?

A little over five months. I bought it on a 60 day payment plan. However, by the time I had paid him off it was too cold to ship for the breeder. By the time it warmed up enough on his side of the country it was too hot in my part. We had to wait until October. Plus side? As the previous poster said, my snake had put on hundreds of grams from food I didn't have to pay for.

Almost 1 year, bought an enchi in late 2007 the breeder had a major problem at their facility lost alot of animals. I waited for them to recope and produce another one and it was the best investment I've made to date.

Re: What's the longest time you had to wait for a shipment?

I'm at five days now. I've been lucky enough to be able to purchase animals in the late spring, which means optimal shipping temps for my area.
