    Normal or stargazing?

Does this seem normal? Or could it be considered stargazing?
Do boas tend to keep their heads up like this?

Hmmm well I've seen my boas lay their heads up onto things before and do what your girl looks to be doing (not very often though). Every time I'd wave my hand or snake hook around their heads they'd "snap" out of it and get all tongue flicky and interested. I'd keep an eye on her for the time being and have her quarantined: I wouldn't start worrying just yet personally. She's a new addition that may have some little quirks that you haven't come to notice yet.

    Good advice here.

Is she eating yet? When she moves, does she seem coordinated? If you place her on her back, can she right herself immediately and completely?

    Re: Normal or stargazing?

She hasn't eaten yet. Feeding day is tomorrow. She moves around fine. She hides during the day and explores at night. She did have her head propped against the side of her tub yesterday. Maybe she's hungry and waiting for food lol. I believe she can right herself completely and immediately. Ive only seen her topple over once.

Mine do that sometimes. I call it the "hungry hopeful" look - as in, "I'm hungry so hopefully you're here to feed me."

I also had one that would stay like that, or with her head even higher, for hours. Eventually we realized that she was enthralled by the ceiling fan.

That sounds like completely normal behavior. But what do you mean that you've seen her "topple over"??? Did she clumsily fall off a branch? If so, that's normal too. But did you mean that you saw her flop around momentarily while on the ground? If that's the case, that's not so normal.

Pay close attention to how she behaves when she eats tomorrow. She may be a bit clumsy if she's young, but she should be fairly accurate in her strike, constrict securely, and swallow confidently.

But really, everything does seem fine. Boas DO do weird things sometimes.

She had toppled clumsily off off the top of her hide.
