First Fast Concerns
My Stevie is fasting for the winter this year. I'm not worried, because he hasn't lost weight, he's not dehydrated, he shows no signs of illness, and he got a 'well python visit' to the local vet not too long ago. My parents are, but since Steve usually lives in my dorm with me, they don't have a lot of interaction with him and don't know his habits.
He started in mid-December, so he's been off feed for approximately a month. I continue to offer him medium rats once a week, but he's still disinterested. Now, he didn't go off food last year(presumably because he was still relatively little), so this is my first experience with a fast.
Are there any things that I should watch out for while he's fasting?
Also, about how long do yours fast, if they do?
Thanks, EM.
I'm somewhat new to the world of owning snakes, but I've read all the books and I've pestered all the veterans with questions!
