She went through a shed yesterday and it went well. Just trying to get her environment were it needs to be. Temp running 88-90 put aspen shaving under her hide the rest is crushed walnut. Re: Humidity problem

When I had a tank I tried the foil on top but it wasn't enough. I had some success with using a damp beach towel folded and placed over 3/4 of the cage top. I would turn it each day, rewet it, and had two different towels I rotated so I could wash as needed. With misting I could maintain the humidity. This worked for me, and I live in a dry climate. Maintaining humidity was the biggest factor in my switching to a PVC cage though. It was a lot of monitoring.

You can also try sphagum (sp?) moss to help with humidity.

If you can keep the humidity at 40-50% you will be fine. I find that cutting a cardboard insert for the top screen and covering it in foil helps hold heat and humidity.

Adding moss inside the hides is a good way to create higher humidity for the snake where it matters since the hide is where your ball will spend most of its time. I use moss in my hides in my glass tank. I dampen it and allow it to dry out during regular non shed times and keep it damp during a shed.

Also cypress mulch is a better choice to keep humidity up.

I would suggest getting rid of the half log hide. Its not the best option for a ball since it has two large openings. Its better to offer a tight fitting hide with one small door.

These are cheap, sturdy, and easy to clean.

I hope that's just the substrate temp under her warm side hide, and not ambient.

I agree with using cypress mulch, you can soak it and it will release humidity and dry out slowly without molding.
