Re: bedding question
Best bedding for what? Price? Humidity? Quantity? It depends what you're looking for.
Some people use newspaper and others use aspen or coco husks. Each has their pros and cons.
Be a little bit more specific in your question.

Re: bedding question
Most use paper towel or news paper because it is cheap/free and easy to clean.
Some people who need extra humidity use cypress mulch.
Aspen is pretty common as well. It absorbs well and is easy to spot clean messes.

I wouldn't say most use paper towels or news paper. For hatchlings yes, no doubt. I can attest to several large breeders and a lot of hobbyists I know that use Aspen.
I prefer Aspen purely out of preference. Aspen has it's downfall as do they all, but I like it. Some of my balls like it and others hate it, though I say this mainly joking, a few of my balls push everything out of the way and lay on the bare tub.

Re: bedding question
There's a lot of options for bedding.
I personally use paper towel because it's cheaper, and IMO cleaner because you can't spot clean and have to clean the entire tub.
Some will use cypress, coco husk, and other wetter substrates if they need help maintaining humidity.
Others will use aspen, or reptibark.

Re: bedding question
Newspaper is what I use for everyone.
Aspen, cypress, pine, whatever bark, just doesn't seem as clean to me with the whole spot cleaning thing.

I use aspen, but thats because I like the extra humidity.
