Looking to buy a Ball python

Hello everyone, I am new to the forum and I am looking to buy a Ball python... I bought one some years back, but bought it from a pet store and it died a few days later, so I just gave up... I want to get one from a reputable breeder/ pet store.

buy a well-started subadult that is feeding well from a reputable breeder, either directly or at a reptile show.

I'd suggest finding one online which is probably the easiest option. There's plenty of qualified and well respected breeders that people on this forum can vouch for or are even breeders themselves. The most important part is to do your research. If you're not sure about a breeder then ask on this part of the forum for feedback: http://ball-pythons.net/forums/forum...iries-Feedback

I can personally vouch for Mike Wilbanks/Cody Jones (http://pythonregius.com/). I ordered my Pied from them and he was delivered to me in great health.

Thanks Misha... I'm not looking for an expensive snake, just a normal one... From what I have seen they just sell the specialty snakes

This is a great source to check for ball pythons. It will give you a solid idea of what morph's are out there and what they are selling for.

I think you'll find quite a few breeders local to your area if you search Kingsnake and Fauna, or search for local Facebook reptile groups. Most breeders will have normals available.

You are in the right spot for sure. I have no idea what you have for a setup, but I'd take 100% care in buying the best possible enclosure, setting up and dialing in your husbandry before you get the snake.

You and the snake will be plenty happy if you prepare adequately on the front side.

    Good luck!

What price range are you looking to spend in? Depending on what you're looking to spend, you might be surprised at what you can find.

I would recommend going to a reptile show over online. That way you can talk to the breeder, see and handle the snake you are wanting to purchase. Plus, you'll save on shipping fees. While there are several large online breeders that many buy from, by going to a show you may find more of a hobby breeder who has been able to handle the snake you're looking at on a daily basis which will be a nice start towards taming it.

A quick google search of reptile shows in Cincinnati found the following show on January 12th:
