Sorry for all the questions- this heat is killing me!

And hopefully not my little guy in the process. I am getting closer to securing the right temps. In hindsight I should have worked this out before bringing him home but I was naive and thought it would be as easy as plugging in a heat light. Wrong!

So I set the uth to 83 but it looks like I should bump it up to 86. Do I need a dimmer heat light on the hot side so I can raise the temp on the hot side above the hide to 86? If I don't the air outside the hide is around 74.

If I do that then I will have a uth on thermostat and two heat lamps on dimmers on a ten gallon tank. Is that ok? A heat lamp on the lowest dim gets the cool side to about 76.

I just want to get this right!

There should be no need for two lights on a 10 gallon. Set the uth at 90. What is the temp in the room the tank is in?

We are in fl and having a bit of a cold streak so no air on or heat... The house is about 70?

I would get a space heater and run it just when you need it for the room the tank is in. Room temp of 75 should do the trick with uth set at 90 and one controlled heat bulb
