I was lookin at some pics and stuff on here... Ginevive has that snake Gunther, who is reall really big!! How can you tell if your snake is going to become a fairly large ball?? Is there anyway to help it along with the growing?? I don't want to feed it too many mice or anything, right now Pandora eats a large mouse about every 6 days or so. I want her to be a big ball too... any ideas??

ball pythons won't grow any bigger than 5-6 feet. as i've read, 6 feed is incredible for a bp

switching over to rats may help you , it may take some time to make the switch but you will eventually get it done , the majority of balls wont readily take a second third or fourth mouse so the larger prey item helps them keep growing a single mouse wont put much growth on a yearling ball python

people don't feed puppies more to make them grow faster. let nature take its course, an adult ball python is a hefty snake... all healthy adults are. just give your snake some time to age and mature.

I dident say faster but a yearling ball python needs more than adult mouse to grow period you do feed a puppy more at a year old than 6 weeks old right? I know if I fed my 140 pound rottweiler the same as I did when he was 6 weeks old he would be skin and bones

that's true i think but in the same respect if you fed the puppy the same amount that you would feed the adult it would be unhealthy and instead of being big and strong he would just be fat.
switching to rats should help--smulkin, i think, posted a pic not long ago of two snakes that were the same age, one that had been eating rats and one that had been eating mice. there was a big difference in their size. and you are in luck if it is a female that you have because they tend to get bigger anyhow.

If you just give it time, your snake will get big, trust me. I cheated with Goblin, by buying him when he was already adult sized, but my other 2 Bps are only about two and three feet long, and were tiny when I got them. Overfeeding is not a reliable way to grow a snake fast; it usually just leads to regurgitation, and that will just hinder growth. Just keep to your regular feeding schedule (I think you said, every 6 days, that is good) Switching to rats definately helps too!
Goblin is the one who's really big; Gunth is still growing; he's maybe 3 feet. But Gobby is over 4, and he is really wide! Here's a pic.
