offspring of normal and double het albino pied

hello everyone, I'm thinking of getting a male double het albino pied from ballpythonsrus and would want to breed it to my female normal but as im not very good at genetics so would wonder what there offspring (kids, hatchlings, whatever you want to call it) would be, could there be a chance of an albino pied as one of the hatchlings, if so how big would the chance be, would I get a piebald, albino, a normal or what. Before anyone suggests it WOBP genetic calculators dosent work for gets and double genes

I'd say you'd get a bunch of normals that are 50% het pied and 50% het albino, unless your female normal has some hidden genes in her.

The only way you have a chance at getting any visual morphs is if you pair that male double het to a female that is also double het for the same genes.
Paring him to a normal would just get more normals with a 'chance' of carrying one or both of the genes, but it would be impossible to tell which babies have what as they all would just look like normals.

You would need this to have a chance at any visuals of those 2 genes.

both of the parents have to have both the genes in one form or another, as a het or visual.

Double hets do work on wobp, but to get visuals out of hets you need to breed hets to hets or hets to visual.

You need an albino pied, an albino het pied, a pied het albino, or another double het pied albino to have any chances at visuals.

Sorry but that's not totally accurate. If he were to pair that male with either a het albino or het pied female he would still have a chance of seeing visuals with that pairing, so for instance if you bred that male to a het albino female you would have a chance at getting albinos possible het for pied, same if you bred it to a het pied female, you would have a chance at seeing pieds possible het for albinos.

Since you're new I will advise against pairing this to a normal. While working possible hets is ok with single gene recessives, I would not suggest it for a double. The odds are just far too long to hit on it, I would fine a het alboni and a het pied and work from there

it would be better to breed him to at the very least a het pied and or a het albino than a Normal.

keep any visual females to breed back to dad. this way if they don't prove you still have a nice adult morph female instead of a normal.

It was accurate, if he was looking at having a chance of getting albino pieds, both parents needed both genes in one form or another, as het or as visual. I wasn't trying to go into every single phase or possibility that he could get 'a' visual and confuse them. I was answering directly for the albino pied part, in a short and to-the-point manner.

Thats what I went off of. Poss hets are a pain for anyone, so ensuring that you're shooting for the best possible outcome would be smart.

I don't like that I'm going after vpi axanthics with two hets. But, any nonvisual offspring are pet quality normals.

to sum it up and put it simply:

breeding a het or a double het to a normal gets you nowhere. you only get possible hets, and these are not very useful.

by the way, the absolutely best pairings are the ones that dont produce any possible hets at all. like albino het pied to pied het albino, or albino pied to double het albino pied. unfortunately all these ideal pairings require an albino pied, or require BPs that can only be produced with an albino pied. (pied het albino for example). so basically double het to double het is needed to get the first visual double recessive, and once you have that it all gets very easy and you can produce more of them with really great odds.

Time Dilation is real, it is so real that all clocks if they are precise enough can measure it, and GPS could not possibly work without it.

You'd be wrong there, albino het pied to pied het albino will still give 100% het pieds or albino with the possibility of visuals and non visuals.

The actual best pairing would be albino pied to albino pied.
