i think i heard a weezing or a squeaking coming from my snakes cage just now. it sounded kind of like a very very quite creaking door. my snakes temps are good, and it is not too moist, between 55 and 65 % humidity. it seemed to stop for a minute or 2 but then started again. can snakes snore? or is this a sign of lung problems. what should i do? (before going to a vet). i couldnt get an apt. for days. can i take em to the animal e.r.????

Do u have any other gadgets in the cage ? Waterfall, mister etc ? If its coming from your snake, check its nose, do u spot any mukus or bubble ? Is your snake yawning alot ? Coz this may hint that hes have respository problems.
What substrate are you using ?
If the sound is indeed coming from your snake, id take it to vet asap. Theres no knowing till a vet check it.

It's a definite possibility that you are looking at a nacent respiratory infection. Listen carefully for more popping or wheezing noises with the snake's head held close to your ear for several minutes. A creaking door noise might have been the snake or might have been a noise he made with something in the enclosure itself. Chances are the emergency vet will have no reptile experience, so you really want a vet who knows her stuff for this one. If it does turn out that the noise is coming from the snake, get the first appt you can with a herp vet, and in the meantime try to boost cage temps slightly (just a couple of degrees) to help his metabolism.

Feeding a to large of a prey?!
cool. i took the snake out and listened with roswell an inch from my ear. i took him into another room while my g/f listened with her ear in the cage. she heard the noise, and we found it is coming from the hygrometer. at least thats what we think. it is the only thing in there besides the light and heat pad, which are both off.... i am soo0oo happy those sounds were not from roswell.
