So when you think it no longer worth the effort?
Ok I have posted before that I Have a pair of het axanthic (joliff) tat I bee trying to prove out for 4 years now. I have seen locks (multiple ) each yea but never any eggs. (this season I been pairing them since August and am to he point I ready to pull the plug and sell them off as pets to a local pet store.
How long would you give the pair to prove out? I have wasted (how it feels) 6+ years on these guys. I even tossed a ivory male in with female(seen locks) and I going to give her until June then she gone. I may offer the male up sooner as I betting my lucky he either sterile or she is. and they my only joliff het I got. my other axanthic is vpi and she `100% het albino so I can make a albino het axanithic to breed back to her the flowing year to make a snow. ( which was my original plan for the joliff hets.

I'd bail. Axanthics are cheap enough it would be hard for me to justify a het to het breeding with no other dom/codoms attached - too many normals.

I've got a 12 year old female albino that I produced myself that has never laid an egg. Though she pops and probes as a female I've even put her in with other females for the season just to see if I'm wrong on the sex, still never saw any breeding and nary an egg. This past year she's been the constant roommate for my retired het albino male, I don't use him for breeding anymore anyway so I'm just going to leave those two together year round. If anything happens then great, but I really don't have any expectations. She's just a really nice pet snake.

If you're happy to have them as pets then keep them, if not find someone you trust to take good care of them who wants a pet snake(s).

they are good pets but with our limited reptile space That be 2 tubs that could be used for a mutli gene animal. The only reason I tried so long is that there was a chance they were possible het albino too ( real low ) but I was hoping to try lol.

Yeah, definitely worth the attempt, but there also comes a time when you have to ask yourself if the resources you're putting in (the food, the used space, the heating bills, potential vet costs) are worth what you're getting out of it. The fact that you're asking in the first place says that you're heart is catching up with your head here, and it's probably time to start looking for a new home for them.
