    Late cb12 female boa

This girl was given to me, she's about 4ft really weighty, I'm unsure of her genes, someone said she was a common boa but she has so much pink and salmon tones when she's not going into shed. If anyone could let me know what they think, I would appreciate it a lot.
    Thanks.

She is very nice!! Congratulations on her.

She is a common, or normal, BCI. She does have a lot of nice pink blushing, but there is a normal amount of black pigmentation so she is not a hypo. She could have come from a line of pastel though, although there is no way to be sure of that. Some normals just do have a nice amount of blushing.

She does look a teeny bit heavy though. What kind of feeding schedule did her previous owners have her on? I would perhaps cut back on how often she's fed - at least for a couple of months. Stick with an appropriate sized rat, but only give her one every 2 weeks and give her a chance to get a little of that fat off. Boas have very slow metabolisms so less is better for them.

I think the last owner didn't feed her enough he told me he rarely handled her because she apparently striked at him, never done so with me, she was Definently underweight when I got her so I made sure I fed her every 7 days for about 2 months on medium rats, she gained nicely so I'm glad to hear she looks large I'll go to feeding her once every 10-14 days and see how she goes in a month or 2.

    Thanks for your reply
