Lemonback
There might be threads on this already but I couldn't find them but does anyone know if breeding a lemonback to a fire will produce black eyed leucistics? I know they're supposedly all the "same" (fire, sulfur, etc) but I'm still not clear on it. Thanks -Alex

I am pretty confident the Het Black Eyed Lucy lines will all cross.
I think you have, in my opinion, a few options based on how much yellow/orange coloring you want. If you want the whitest Lucies, I would say the Lemonbacks have proven to produce the least amount of yellow or basically no yellow. If you want a higher chance of high orange, you might want an Ember or Sulfur. If you do not care about the Lucies and the amount of white, a Fire might just do.

I would think everyone expects the lemonback to be allelic with fire, but to my knowledge hasn't actually been proven. We do know that super lemonbacks have all been pure white black eye lucy though. Most of the lemonbacks were unfortunately gone when the pro exotics fire happened back in 2011.

I have a pastel lemonback that I plan to pair with a fire morph sometime in the near future and wanted to see if it could be done. I would also like to try to bring back Lemonbacks again. Thanks again guys -Alex
PS that is a nice Aru GTP

This year a breeder I know did a Lemonback to Fire breeding but used multiple males and the other male got the job done. I guess it will be another year before we know for certain. I have a clutch of Disco to Lemonback incubating now so we may have some answers but even then nothing to prove they are the same. Still looking forward to seeing the cross though! Here is a picture of my Super Lemonback that I produced last year.
