Birth Defect ???
Does anyone if this is a serious problem. She is eating and shedding fine. The guy who is selling her said that after she was born it took a little while for her belly scales to close up. Let me know what you think. Thanks so much.

Hopefully not,it looks like stitches to me... But I'd assume if it's eating and shedding well, doubt it will be an issue, just scar tissue I would guess.
for $200, I say go for it,but like some other members said, maybe sex it to make sure it's female.

The seller didn't mention anything about a medical procedure? Those look like stitches to me as well, and the wrong direction to be a closure of umbilicus. I would see if you could get paperwork on that procedure, just because that looks like a serious incision. My concern would be, for 200, the seller knows she can't breed in the future for whatever reason and is just trying to push her off on someone. :/

Re: Birth Defect ???
It might have been a hernia that just didn't close right. Not necessarily stitches, unless he did them himself. If a vet pu in sutures he would have done it right not mangled it. It could have been from inbreeding too many generations of snakes also. It can and has happened. I would ask if he took her to a vet or if there was anything he did to her.
