    How often do snakes shed???

I've heard as babies it's like 1 time a month and as adults every 3 months or so. I'm asking cause my Ghost has shed exactly 1 time a month the last few months since I got him. He fully shed last on Nov9 and before that was Oct8.

2 days ago i picked him up and I looked at his belly and it looked weird an off white color, same again last night,so I put him back in his tank. I just got Home from work and went to go check on him now and well his belly is full pink and he is dull and pale again. Exactly how he gets before shed. But it's only 2 1/2 weeks later.

Is it normal for a snake to shed faster than1 time a month. He seems to be growing at an insane pace and is taking down rat weanlings like nothing. I actually fed him a small rat the other day instead of weanling ( which was an accident,I was in a rush when I bought the rat) was a bit to big,but he was boss and swallowed it and 3 days later looked like he had ate nothing.

is it possible he is growing at a faster rate than normal? I was shocked when I took him out and he was pale like he was. So I just now added damp sphagnum moss to the tank. Make sure humidity stays up. I've finally got my humidity to pretty much maintain 50-60 and maybe just adding the moss will bump it up to 70, if not I'll do some extra misting,no biggie. He is in a tank so it takes a little maintenance daily,no more than 5 mins worth to keep the humidity At 60. Hes 18" appx and I weighed him yesterday he was 400 grams and I believe he is only about 5 months old,I'm assuming. I forgot to ask when I purchased him,how old he was. But he was about 100 gram when I got him.

I think they just shed as they need to, while they grow. Unless it's very consistent and not spaced out (in which case could be a skin irritation or problem, like mites).
If you've checked on that, then I'd say he's just growing quickly. If you think he's growing TOO fast, just slow down the feeding - add an extra day in between feedings, or wait to up the size for awhile. But I have heard from someone else that balls can gain anywhere from 50-100 grams a month as hatchlings. Mine hasn't gained that quickly, but that's okay they are all different.

The faster a snake grows, the more it will shed.
So if your ghost is growing quickly, it is very possible that it's shedding again.

Nope,no signs of mites whatsoever...I was just holding him as well, looked in his water, around the bedding imma check him again....Seems like every few days I pick him up he looks larger,it's wild..feeding him every 5 days and I don't mind him growing,it's all good with me. I don't think if he had mites he can just makehimself shed,I though or am pretty positive that shedding is only possible when growing????im going to feed him Friday, which will be one week from his last feeding, but think imma up the feeding to every 6 days. But like I said,I have definitely no issues with feeding him and having him grow..

I also wonder if he is a she,I was told it was a he....

They can shed due to injury or irritation as well as growing.

Yep, the more your feed them the more they shed. I had one shed 2 weeks after the last shed.

Yeah upon looking at him,as I do handle him often, and did today,he looks very good. Heat and hot spots are good, humidity good, nothing in the tank for him to damage himself against...I feed him every 5 days, but if he poops,I usually always feed him the day after, even I fed him only like3 days before and Ive done that quiet a few times. So he does get fed a lot and he does get fed good size meals. His meals are always slightly larger than the fattest part of his body. He just always looks like he is getting thicker. I have no complaints.

Guess I'll find out how on point his shed is. I got him Sept 8 ,he first fully shed oct8 and then fully shed Nov9. He usually goes dull for 3-4 days, then blue eyes 2 days and then sheds..process is about 5-6 days. So it's actually not that far off from his schedule.plusi weighed him yesterday and was around 400 grams but has poop in him,so I'll as he's around 385/390 my last weigh in was about 2 1/2- 3 weeks ago and he was just a Bit over 300 grams
