    Lightbulb Monitoring snakes

Anyone else monitoring their setups with some sort of a cam? I did setup something for me to use while away or at work or any other being absent from my love

I've recycled old android phone for now that streams video on interwebz for my viewing while i'm away, over a cell phone, or just via any browser. It allows me to use LED on the phone itself for "night vision" so i'm not limited to daylight or in house lightningI also have a surveillance monitor to notify (email/sms) me about any activity and specially if thermostat fails

Didn't know where to put this topic so it's in General BP. Couldn't really agree with BP pictures and housing

P.S. Thinking of getting me a HD, 360 rotatable and tiltable IP camera with IR so i can monitor more tanks at once and with more precision. Also a zoom is a nice option. Call me crazy but i like to have eye of good option

I am both impressed and rather perturbed at the same time...

    Re: Monitoring snakes

Quite simple actually. Installed a software that supports http video streaming on android. I've used IP Webcam which runs on boot. Phone stands on cheap tripod and is always on charger. And that's about it

Then for monitoring on the go i use tinyCam Monitor (pro). And while behind laptop/PC i use normal web browser. The surveillance setup is a bit more tricky since it requires constant monitoring which means 24/7 running PC. Also needs it some fiddling around with masking the motion detection and event triggering.

This what I see on my phone:

At work i abuse a web browser:

And this is surveillance software setup It also allows for IP cameras to pan/tilt/zoom

I believe i haven't left out anything important Probably the same thing can be done with iCrap devices :cens0r:

The same can be achieved with cheapo IP cams ranging from $50 on depends on what their options and video capabilities are
