How often do BP Poop?
How often do BP's poop? Got my Normal BP Oct 5th and since I had her she only poop twice. Is that Normal? She weigh in at 74 grams when we got her now she is up to 132 grams on a 5-day feeding schedule. She pee's fine it's always 3-days after her meal, we find out she has urates it's the most fouling thing to smell. lol pee on my wife a few times.

There seems to be a big variance in python's pooping. I have some who poop every 7 to 9 days, and some who poop every 3 weeks. Others poop randomly it seems.
It is okay to use pine bedding for snakes.
It is okay to feed live food to snakes.

I got my big female pied and she went 3 weeks before she finally ate for me ( I got her at about 1300 grams) it was nearly another month after that before she finally pooped for me, and when she did like an inch of her poop was almost like cement, it crumbled it was white it wars like rocks. I think with her being shipped to me and not being comfortable in her new home and everything mixed together had something to do with it. now that she got that out of the way she seems to be more regular. my other bp's id estimate once a week, hatchlings a little more than that maybe 2 or 3 times a week.

I've had my ball since the end of September, and since that time (and feeding every 5-6 days regularly) he has pooped ONCE.
I'm not worried, though. He's passing urates and drinking and eating fine, and active as can be. I would think it differs quite a bit with every snake. I have heard of some going a couple times a week, and some going only after shedding, or only once or twice a SEASON. Very interesting!

Yea the best thing I give her time. Snakes are new to us, it's weird having cats and other animals that poop everyday to an animal that can go weeks on in without pooping.

Re: How often do BP Poop?
Most of mine go 4-6 days after their last meal, and they primarily get fed over the weekend. So guess what I'm doing tonight?

It's pretty random.
Most of mine tend to poop when they shed, which is once every few weeks.

Re: How often do BP Poop?
when did she last shed? mine often wait until after they shed to go if they have a shed coming up, so if she hasn't gone in a while don't worry until at least after they shed. If there's a lot of stuff in her the snake should look big around the tail, sometimes even a lighter color from scales being stretched out some.

hahaha I'm in the exact same boat there. When they're young I'm assuming they get more out of their meals and poop less.
Mine usually go twice a month and going right after shed is guaranteed, almost like they're holding it until they shed

Re: How often do BP Poop?
At first his prey was a bit to small he was pooping every 2 weeks,2 1/2 weeks'-once I upped the size of his dinner to a little bigger than the fattest part of his body,he craps on avg every 4-7 days,I'd say 5-6 is avg
plus what i do is the day afterr he poops I aways feed him, even if is only3 days since he ate..his belly is now empty so he's hungry. But on avg he eats every 5 days..tommorow I feed him ,it's 5 days since he last ate and he just took a dump about 2 hours ago, works out perfect
