Feeding Frequency and amounts question

We have 140g male bp. We've had him just over a month and he's been eating well for the last 3 weeks. Been feeding f/t small mice (6-8g) every 4 days or so. But he still acts like he's hungry. He's normally active the night before we feed and then hides in his cool-side rock hide in the morning. He take the mice easily, then less than an hour later he sits at the front of the same hide, waiting for more food.

Is this normal? Should we be feeding him more (larger mice) or more often? He has not shed yet, but is probably getting close.

You could easily bump up to larger mice(15-25g) and feed every 5 days. It's much easier to under feed a baby snake than it is to over feed. Just ignore it when you think the snake "looks hungry". Stay on your feeding schedule, and don't sweat it if they skip a meal.

I feed based off the fattest part of my snake,well a bit bigger than his girthiest part of his body..but idk,my guy is forever in his hide,they both are. So I am def not sure why yours is constantly out and about,one things can think of is his prey is too small..once I bumped up food size for my ghost,he rarely ever comes out anymore. He sees me at the front of the tank for his hide,he now pops his head put expecting food,the pig he is...

Definitely bump up the size, a small adult mouse would be fine, stick with every 5 days for now.

6g to 8g is too small for a 140g snake. Basic guideline is 10% to 15% of his weight in one feeding.

You can do large mice or start trying to switch him over to rats via rat pups at this point.
