    Just wondering

    So has anyone else here made the decision not to purchase from someone just due to their treatment of other people on forums?

    I ask because I have seen a lot of people treating other people poorly and even though they produce stunning animals and have great reputations I personally will not purchase from them due to that treatment. Just wanted to know if anyone else feels the same way or if I have to high of standards for the way people act and how that impacts their business relations.

    I take it into account. Its more or less a buyer review, so why not take a look at what others experience was and knowing what to expect from a breeder.

    I do not mean the inquiries area here I am talking about on various posts how one person treats another. Such as someone asks a question and someone replies to them and is attacking in their reply. Things such as that.

    I definitely take into account how someone acts on a forum when I'm to do a purchase (though most I've bought from aren't active on any forums). For example there's a breeder pretty local to me that has pretty good feedback overall but I've seen how he and people close to him acted in certain BOI threads and I wouldn't work with him if he was the last breeder on earth. They acted totally unprofessional and acted down right disrespectful and childish. So yep, I take that into account.

    This is exactly what I am talking about. I do not get how people can act the way they do on public forums and expect the customers to think they would have good business practices.

    Yup. People online are still people and while there is some anonymity when you aren't speaking in person and only over a forum, you are still dealing with people. If a person chooses (and yes its a choice, especially typing! unless there is a gun to your head, your words are your words. own them, and don't blame your reactions on other people. it's a major pet peeve) to act childish on a forum, what's stopping them from behaving like that to a customer or a potential one? I'm not what you'd call a difficult customer, but if I have questions about an animal or caretaking or life comes up, I don't want to deal with potential jerkness. So if someone raises red flags, I wouldn't buy from them.

    Absolutely. I assume that the way people treat other people is a reflection of moral character, and therefore tells me something about how they treat their animals as well. If someone can't put effort into thinking about how their written words will sound when read, how much effort are they putting into making sure their snakes always have fresh water or keeping accurate records? It might be an erroneous assumption on my part, but I also just don't want to deal with or encourage rude behavior.

    First post back and it's not a thread stating I'm back, lol.

    I take that into account, but to be honest I've only purchased from 2 members on the forums. I got a bumblebee from Corey DeLong, and a Lemon Blast from Andrew Hall. Wait, I forgot about Tim, so that makes 3 members. All of my other animals came from Sean Bradley(EbN). And I just forgot about Luke Martin, so make that 4 members. My memory is horrible, lol. Now I have avoided purchasing animals from people a few members on the forums, one was due to the type of person I perceived them as. The other two people just rarely posted, and some of what they posted make no logical sense so I avoided them. I put a lot into how a person handles a situation, and even if they have a bad review, it's about how they handled it. The true test in customer service is when somebody has a problem and then seeing how they resolve it. I had an issue with something getting shipped to the wrong state, and without me even having to intervene he corrected the problem then refunded me shipping cost. To me that showed a big part on customer service because I didn't have to say anything.

    One thing, I don't remember the kids name on here but he posted some pictures of horrible housing and then got into it with like every member that tried to offer advice. Well if he had a gorgeous animal that I wanted and it was priced very cheap, I still wouldn't get from him. This is purely preference because I hold the people I do business with in high standards.

    I believe we all know who he is and I would never buy from him either. Ive only bought from 3 members here on this forum and I would have to say each and every one of them have been extremly great to work with!
