    2012-2013 The Boaphile Season Wrap-up.

    2012-2013 The Boaphile Season Wrap-up.

I thought I would show some of the highlights from the 2012 - 2013 Boaphile Boa breeding season. This season started out with a sputter and then a whimper, not giving me the first baby till nearly July. Still it all worked out with a very satisfying season.

June 26, 2013: After Manny Frade beat us to this world’s first by about two weeks, I was still quite happy to see a few Key West VPI Pink Panther puppies.

This is the litter that helped me to show that the Key West mutation causes a fading of the normally entirely black mustache. Not that I know any particular significance to that faded mustache at this point. It is just an interesting observation.

For the very first time for me, I produced a few Super Jungles and Hypo Super Jungles Het Kahl Albino. Kind of a cool litter.

After three seasons of trying, I finally made myself a couple Ghost Motleys.

Another great litter from a Motley Het Sharp X Het Sharp breeding with 32 babies and yet the Sharp Albino Motley alludes me... still I did get a cool Sharp Paradox baby.

I had the second of three Roswell Ladder tails prove out to be Het Albino this year. Look for more cool Roswell related combos in 2014. ;-]

Then July 23rd I was fortunate to find a few more Anery and Ghost Jungles in the goo.

July 24th saw my first Jungle VPI stuff hit the ground. I have found that the Jungle VPIs jump out from the non-jungles in the most profound way.

I have needed a few Jungle Motley Albinos since I first saw them a few years back. August 1st I finally produced 1.1 of them.

August 6th, the FIRST Hypo Key West Motleys were born.

After only two weeks of courtship, the Hypo mother of these babies ovulated making it one of the shortest courtships that I have personally seen.

August the 18th, the pairing below of an insanely RED Pastel Dream Het Sharp produced by Anthony Phommasith X Prodigy boy made this strongly red influenced litter of Paradise Boas for me.

August 27th, we had the FIRST Prodigy Motleys and more Prodigy babies as well.

September 5th we had a great litter of Albinos and Albino Motleys from an Albino Motley X Albino breeding.

September 16th we were first to see the FIRST Motley Paradise and the FIRST Sunglow Paradise babies produced.

The Motley Paradise are the craziest Motleys I have ever seen. I just can't wait to see the Sunglow version of one of them.

September 16th brought me the FIRST Paradigm Key West baby.

Along with a couple Key West Sharp Albinos in the goo.

October 5th we were please to produce the FIRST Key West Aztecs, KeyTecs and the FIRST Hypo KeyTecs.

October 3rd we had another first occur with the birth of the FIRST Motley Labyrinth Boas. Here is one with a "normal" Labyrinth littermate.

Then I wrapped up the season with a few Motley Jungles.

I just think the Motley Jungle combo is a fantastic mix that will come more into its own in the future in combination with other mutations.

    What's next I wonder? What's next?

I'd say the season turned out pretty spectacular for you Jeff! Congrats on those wickedly cool babies!
