    Do NOT violate Facebook ToS!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you're using a "Timeline"/Personal account as a business page, HEED THIS WARNING!! Eventually you're going to be forced to convert it to a "Page" for violating Facebooks ToS by representing a business or entity via a personal account.

When it forces conversion, you have no option whatsoever to dispute it. You have no avenue to contact Facebook. When they contact you back, it will be a cut & paste, generic answer that is not helpful at all.

I did the conversion last night. It allowed me to download a copy of my data before the conversion, but the message & photo portion is corrupt and won't open, and I do not have the option to download it again. The photos that were included are mis-sized and scattered in no order whatsoever, among different folders.

Facebook said when I do the conversion it will transfer ALL of my photos over. It did not. It stalled at 300-something, and there's got to have been about 5,000+ photos on my account. The ones that were ported in came out of order, without captions, and without comments, and were NOT sorted into albums. It's just a mess of photos with no explanations attached to them whatsoever.

It also said it would transfer all my "Friends" to "Likes," which it did not do. All of the pages I have liked, there's no record of.

I can no longer access any of my messages (a couple of years worth, I referenced my Inbox maaaaany times and still need to, but too bad for me I guess).

There are a whole bunch of complaints about this, but Facebook refuses to do anything.

So I'm telling you now, if you don't want to lose your data, don't use a Personal Profile to represent or post about your business. I'm *pretty* sure if somebody reports your account for not representing a real person....POOF.
I recognize and admit that I violated the ToS...however those Terms were established AFTER I created my Personal Profile. "Pages" didn't even exist when I started my account. I contacted Facebook and said I would cease using my business name, remove my cover photo, and not post anything for sale, but they weren't having any of it.

There are many, many reasons to use a personal profile as opposed to a Page, but apparently Facebook doesn't give a hoot.

Whatever. I'm just posting this because I know there are a huge amount of you out there using a Personal Profile as your business page, and I don't want you to lose data like I did.

If I had any of you on my account, please re-add me at http://www.facebook.com/squamishserpents.ca
