Red face greetings from me and JACKO

    Dear my new friends,

I am new at this site. I live at Indonesia...and I have a male normal BP named JACKO...I loooove him very much
I want to ask you a question,...lately he is not very interested with food. I used to give him 2 rats perweek, but the last 1 month he ate only one,..and today I try to give it rat again to him,..he just ignored it...

Is it a normal behavior in BP or should I worry about something? He acts normal, active and happy,..

He is about 1.5 yo, 0.8 kg, male one.

    thank you very much
    yuli

    greetings from me and JACKO

Hello! welcome to the site! to answer your question, I think it is just due to the time of the year, it's breeding season for bp and at the age and weight of your bp he is mature and probably thinking about breeding more than wanting to eat. Just watch his weight closely and make sure he doesn't drop any significant weight that's when you should worry. But as long as your husbandry is in check then don't worry too much he will eat when he is ready to. I have one that didn't eat for the entire month of September but starting eating smaller meals afterward. So I hope I helped! Once again welcome to the site! And we would love to see pics of your bp!!

What size rat? He is probably at the age/size where one appropriately sized meal is plenty per week.

Re: greetings from me and JACKO

thank you very much for your kind answer.
The size of the rat is (I am not really sure,...in my country they call it medium rat)
the length from nose to vent is about 7-8 cm.

I really want to post picture of Jacko but I don't know how.
I tried to find the manage attachment button but I still can't find it,...probably you can help me...

    thank you

Going by age alone... it would be better if you could provide the snakes weight he should be on one 15 cm rat, give or take a little. The rat should be as big as the widest part of your snake.
This is the time of year a yearling will tend to go off food so I wouldn't worry too much yet. Just keep an eye on his weight.
As for pics... I'm sorry I use talpatalk on my phone but if you do a search on the forum there is a thread on how to post pics

To post pixs on here i use the photobucket app. Upload the pix to your photobucket. Open the pix and depending on your phone use the button that opens the options for the pix and save link. Then copy it to the post here. Good luck. Oh glad he's eating. Mine just came out of a month hunger strike as well lol.

Re: greetings from me and JACKO

thank you. I will try that to post picture.
I want to ask you...for BP, is it necessary to soak them in shallow water probably once perweek?
Because last time Jacko shed his skin after I soak him,...so probably they need humidity?
Usually I soak Jacko and Jackson my blood once perweek at the morning so they can have the sunbathing also

    thank you
