So I am already hot into the 13-14 season, and have five girls locking up like crazy. I have three other females that are close to breeding weight, but are very finicky and sporadic feeders (), so their weight has been steady for some time. But I really want them to breed this year.
So, I know that breeding spurs the feeding response of a lot of females and certainly has for my girls this year. So I was considering throwing a male in with those females that are close to weight to see if I could get them to feed more steadily and gain the necessary weight to breed comfortably. The snakes are 1300, 1380, and 1220 grams. I have been starting my breeding at 1500 grams.
Would this be dangerous to my girls if one of them ended up gravid from this experimental pairing?
What do you guys think?
