So what do you think of this?

This Lesser to this Pinstripe and I was kinda bummed when I missed the kingpin, ended up with 2 pins and 2 lessers. They all shed finished shedding last night and well this is what I found:

First I checked on the 2 lessers and they looked like nothing I have hatched before, they are off color, There are also little splotches and what not I would call not normal also, but the color is easy to see. I put what I would call a normal lesser in the middle of the 2 of them. Same father.




so I'm thinking ok the pinstripe is pretty dark, guess she makes really dark babies, but then I check out the pinstripes:




one pinstripe looks pretty normal and the other looks quite a few shades darker, but the one thing that caught my eye the most is how thick the dorsal pinstripe lines are on the dark one compared to the normal looking one. So this makes me think I have something going on. I didn't spend much time taking good photos, but I dont think I need to to see what I am seeing. Whats everyone elses take?

There are variations in all of the morphs. Innocent until proven genetic, I'm afraid. Pretty animals though!

I hatched out a Lesser YB that has smudged spots kind of like what I see on yours...

I see variations in each and every of my clutches .. let's say pastel x normal - pastel babies can be completely different one from another .. what I see on these pictures are 2 regular pins and 2 regular lesser .. good looking babies though

i see great looking lessers and pinstripes with all the usual natural variation

all the thousands of very subtle genes that are too subtle to prove out are the material for line-breeding.

i would assume stuff like this to get passed on genetically. but for a morph it needs to sort of be above the noise level of normal natural variation.

Just different for me, I've produced over 30 lessers that all looked similar to the one in the middle, never something like this.

Hold them back, raise them, breed them and figure it out. Could be something then again it could not, but you will never know unless you try it.
