    keeping temp up

hey yall got a couple quastions concerning temp. my ball is getting so big! so much iv switched over to a full cage rather then a tub. everything has been fine humidity has been a bit low but i figured out some tricks. now what can I do to raise my temp. it was fine until winter arived carrying a big fat can of cold. now I live with my mom until we get through closing on my new house. well my mom keeps the tempaure set to 60 degrees farinhight! and my heat bulb and uth cant get it warm enough came home the other day and cool side was 64 and warm was 72. I dont know what to do to help keep some heat in any ideas.

    Re: keeping temp up

I'd put a small space heater in the same room as your animal to keep the temps up.

    What size tank is it?

Do you have any insulation in it?

What type/wattage heat bulb(s) are you using?

Are they heat bulbs? what color are they?

You could try adding some foam board insulation to the sides of the cage

Thick paper or cardboard can work to trap some heat as well, cover three sides. Some members have placed their snakes in closets to help add heat.

Make sure any heater you get has a thermostat. Make sure you are around and checking the heater regularly to see what it needs to be set at. Start low and slowly raise the temp until the cage temps are good.
