Talking I'm building my first one and only snake rack!

    Hello everyone!

I just wanted to share with you all on my snake rack building project.
It's my first time and I've never built anything before so I'm super exiting! And I think I'm doing pretty well also and I can't wait to see the finish result.
First of, I did some research on how to build a home made rack on youtube and google. Then I started to draw some sketches of how I wanted my snake rack to look like. For a few days I went out looking for the perfect tubs (and I have to say.. It's really hard to get good tubs here where I live) but finally I found a good store with exactly the tubs I were look for! After that I measured and calculated how large shelves I would need to have and went off once again to buy what I needed.
I had to pay 100 EUR with everything including the tubs so that's really good.
Yesterday I finally started my project on building it! I got half way but had to take a break because I got some serious fever and I'm really sick for the moment so I have to finish my project hopefully tomorrow.
My husband is laughing at me for the moment saying my rack will look terrible because I'm a girl building it but I'll show him. (my husband can be a pain in the butt sometimes)
But anyway, I may send some picture later on my project if you like to see the finish results when it's done?

    With kind regards Linn

(I hope you can read what I write, English is not my strongest language.)

Hello and sorry for the delay, I've been very ill but I'm finally good to go so I finished my project today. Or almost finished, I still haven't make some holes on the tubs yet but there's no rush. But I think I need some help about which UTH I should use and exactly which one of the thermostats will make a good job? And how do you plug in so many heat pads or heat tapes in one thermostat? Or do you need more than one thermostat? I would be glad for some advice.

Here's a picture of the rack.

Awesooome. I recommend using Flexwatt, And what I do is use a power bar, plug all this different pieces of flexwatt into it, and then plug that into your thermostat.

What I mean when I say 'power bar':

    The rack looks really good.

I recommend THG heat tape over flexwatt heat tape. THG heats more evenly and consistently. It also uses less power than flexwatt.

You can plug all of your heat tape into a power strip, then plug your power strip into your thermostat.

I don't know what thermostats you have available, but I recommend Herpstats by Spyder Robotics. They are very good.

Hello everyone and thanks for the tips.
I'll just do a quick update. I have moved my snake to the rack now a while ago and everything works perfectly. He has shed its skin perfectly and eats like a horse. And he put on weight very quickly now, I've noticed. Soon I'll be off to a reptile exhibition and fill up with more snakes that also going to live in the rack and then I'll begin my journey to breed ball pythons.

I will post some pictures of what it looks like soon.
