    Wondering How many female, and male rat needed.

    Hi sorry just wondering could anyone here find out for me how many female and male rats needed to produce 100 heads per week? >_<

    According to the math there, you would need an average of 10 litters a week, with each litter being about 10 pups. Each female is going to take about 12 weeks for the whole process, so there will be 12 females for ONE breeding group, to get ONE litter a week. So, if you need 100 per week, you will need 120 females. For that many females, you would need 24 males.
    I believe my math is all correct but you may want to figure it out for yourself as well.

    General rule of thumb is to have as many breeding female rats as you do snakes. You may to add/subtract a few give or take depending how your production is and adjust accordingly.
    And for every 3-4 females, you need a male if you want production to be constant in a 1.4 group.
