Need Opinions.

Hey Guys,

So this year I am hoping that closer to the end of the season I will have a few females up to weight - although I am not opposed to holding them off until the 2014/2015 season. I already know what I am doing for a few of my girls this year but I was wondering what you would do with the roster I am working with currently.

MALE: Pastel het Axanthic
FEMALE 1: Pastel het Axanthic
FEMALE 2: Normal het Axanthic

MALE: het Albino
FEMALE: Black Back het. Albino


The rest I am pretty sure what I am going to do but would like some opinions based on the breeder weight BP's I have.

MALES:

- Spinner
- Bumble Bee
- Cinnamon
- Lesser
- Vanilla

FEMALES:

- Normal 4000 gram lady
- Spider
- Mojave (possibly get her to weight)
- Fire (possibly get her to weight)
- Pastel (possibly get her to weight)


I was thinking BEL, Lesser Bee, and Vanilla Cream, and Killer Bee. What do you think?

Don't just think of your females as "getting to weight" ... ensure they are mature enough, age wise as well. I have a 1500g female Pumpkin Champagne that's only a year old. Born big. Grows like crazy. She won't even know a male BP exists until at least another year.

If they are only possibly getting to their weight... the chance of them going right off the bat, their first year, is slim. So essentially you have a for sure normal female and spider female. I'd put the Cinny, Lesser and Vanilla to your Spider... and the Spinner and Bee to your normal.

I actually bought the fire and pastel a few months ago - they were born in early 2011 - But the guy I got them from said he didn't like to power feed.. he just wasn't feeding properly. They were over two years old and between 700-800 grams each. They are monster eaters and sitting at 1100 grams now, so if they hit 1400 or 1500 by the end of the season I will pair them. My mojave girl is 2010 but she had a rough start with eating, I bought her about a year ago and she was 500 grams at 1.5 years old. Got her eating properly and she is also around 1100 grams now so again, at 3 years old I will give her a shot if I am comfortable with her weight.

I am with you on breeding one of the double gene males to the big normal I figured that would probably be my best bet.
