The tail wagging/dragging (the "I'm ready if you are" one), is that a male or female thing, or do they both do it? I have seen one or two of my female BPs do it a few times, but yesterday I saw my mojave do it when I introduced him to one of the female normals (although she didn't seem too interested I guess since she has mostly been in the hide while he has been staying on top of the hide).
Are there any telling signs that the females would be ready/interested in mating when they are by themselves (being more active, etc) or do you just have to guess and look for the tail wag after introducing a male? And if they do lock, do you still leave them together for a while just in case, or split them up again when they are finished?
Also, I think my spider and normal poss het albino might have locked, but not sure. They looked like they were kind of locked, but then I had to move their tank (didn't want to disturb them, but didn't have much of a choice; only moved a couple feet though), but didn't get a pic of it. The next evening/night, I got a pic of what looks like they might have locked again. I am new to breeding BPs, so I am not sure whether it is a lock or just kind of looks like one. The male spider has the classic 'Her dad just walked in on us' face going on in the pic, but I would assume their tails would be a more telling factor.
I'm sure I have plenty more questions, but that should do for now. Thanks.
