regular weight and possible injury?
Hi there! I've lurked here for a long time. Finally a question that I don't see.
We got a new bp on Thursday and let her adjust until today. We weighed her and she is 92 grams. I did get her from a pet shop so she may be under weight. We feed her the day we got her since it was the day they usually feed. They said they received her on June 16th. 92 grams just seems light, but I'm still new to all of this.
Also, she has a line of black that looks like it could have been an injury or may still be. Like I said, she DID come from a pet store. It didn't seem to bother her when she was slithering all over the scale and our hands while we were checking her out.

I also wanted to know if soaking in their bowl is normal if they ate backwards which she did(tail first). I'm just extremely worried about mites but I don't see anything in the water or on her skin. And the humidity is at 60% so that shouldn't be it either. She's also not at all looking ready to shed. I can only relate her near constant soaking with her upside down meal.

I have babies that hatched in mid July and are pushing 200 grams...I'd say your baby is on the lighter side.
The little line of black is where the umbilical cord was attached. It's normal.
Soaking can be a sign of mites. What substrate do you have her on? I'd put her on plain white paper towels for a week or so...will make it easier to see any mites which will look like tiny pepper specks...soaking can also be a sign of too high temps...the upside down meal shouldn't matter.

Her low temp is at 75 and her high is around 90.
Her substrate right now is aspen since it keeps the humidity better.
How long are your babies? She's only 17 inches. Could she be small?

Do you have any pics of her? That would be the easiest way to tell if she's underweight...

I guess her papers could've been mixed up.

So you know that pinky is too small... it can take a rat pup or hopper mouse. If that's what it's been being fed... it's been underfed and could account for her size
