I know some people would say to look for the nearest heat source, but honestly I think they'd just start looking for a good place to hide immediately. First thing I would do is check all of your air vents and make sure they aren't large enough that they could get in there. If your snake got into your ac ducting, you can pretty much call it curtains. Check EVERYTHING. They are really good at sqeezing into tight places you'd never think they could get into.

First place to look - behind the tank - the few times I've had escapees they didn't make it far before relizing they were leaving some cozy warmth behind. What sort of room/adjacent rooms was the tank in? Have you done anything with your feline in the meantime?

There is some place I read about getting food and dragging it along the floorboards and setting up a hide and putting the food in there. Read it somewhere on here I think, so you can probably look that up.

Use the search feature up top and search for "escape".

i believe what you do is drag a rat/mouse across the floor in a line leading to a hide box (put a heating pad for heat under the hide box) with the rodent in it, so it should eat inside the hide box and stay there. hope you find her

For what it's worth, they're nearly always found within 10 feet of the place they escaped from (Randy Plank's 10 foot rule). The longer they're out, the more likely they are to be found further away, but of the escaped ball pythons that are found, probably something like 95% are found within 10 feet.
