My first clutch! A big suprise!

I decided to cut the clutch...the WHOLE clutch. I know I said I was going to wait, but I had a lot of peer pressure. Totally excited, I decided that IF the eggs could be pulled apart easily, then they were ready and I would go ahead and cut them. When I pulled out the eggs, they pulled apart very easily so I decided to go ahead and cut them.

The female was bred to a black pastel from October to December, a lesser from February - Ovulation, and then a pewter was thrown in a few times before ovulation with no observed locks. I was banking on the lesser male nailing these eggs and I was just praying for ONE black pastel female...

When I cut the clutch, I was surprised to find my black pastel! I kept cutting thinking I would see some lessers. Nope! Looks like the black pastel won the clutch! It looks like 8 black pastels and 2 normals...but I'm awful at identifying morphs and there could be one or two more normals in there. I will post pictures of two black pastels as well as pictures of the normal. I've been told by a couple of people that it looks pastelish...but I still think it's normal. Also below is a picture of the black pastel dad. The babies look JUST like him.

Here is the black pastel dad. The first picture is his baby picture, the second is his adult picture:

And here are the two supposed Black pastels:

    Daw....look at dat face!

And here is the normal...the one that some think may be a pastel. I'm still saying normal until it crawls out.

Obviously more pictures will be posted as soon as they are out of their eggs!

If it IS in fact a pastel...then some of this black pastels could be cinnamons. That would also mean that the pewter snuck in a few locks! I can't wait to see what crawls out of these eggs!

I'm thinking the "normal" is a normal. It looks like in the pic the lighter underside near the belly is what's showing making it look more yellow like a pastel but you never know! When it turns and pokes it's head out you should have a better idea I think. Nice babies though!

I still hold that it's a normal. I'll know sure in a few days!

Very. I think I would have been successful in my endeavors if I didn't have people whispering over my shoulder.

Don't look at me! I never said anything about cutting the eggs. You know this and don't you dare point any fingers at me.
