    shody breeder?

So my new little guy arrived today, and while he is friendly and well started, is not the snake from the add and the guy even asked me what one I wanted in the picture... This snake wasnt even in the picture! I asked for the pastel male, im not even sure if this is pastel, or yellowbelly? And if it is pastel, will I still be able to get decent bumbles and other pastels from him which is what I plan when he's big enough?

    Re: shody breeder?

Did you by chance save a picture of the snake you DID want?...

That doesn't look like a pastel to me, and if it is, it's not a quality one.

Looks like a darker pastel to me. In shed to boot. As for YB we'd need pics of the bellys for that.

It looks like it could be a pastel that is deep in shed. I'd get him set up with good humidity and leave him for a few days. I'd say 4 or 5 days until he sheds based on that color and opacity. They can change in appearance dramatically when they're in shed so you may be surprised and realize it is one of the snakes from the picture after he sheds.

Come back after and take another pic to confirm.

you can compare details of the side pattern, its like a fingerprint.

unfortunately what can be seen in your picture is one side of the snake that seems to be hidden in the picture the breeder provided.

in the upper left of the left snake in the picture the breeder provided, you see a larger section of some pretty unique pattern. going down from the head, one black dot distorted into an anvil-shape, then one distorted into a bone-shape, one elongated oval dot, one round dot, one oval dot, and another one distorted into an anvil-shape. and both anvil shapes have little black dots next to them. can you locate that on your snake? it should be on the left side of your snake, halfway down the body.

As mentioned the pattern is how you came confirm if it's the same snake. Yes its a pastel, just not a high quality one.

    Re: shody breeder?

I'll try to compare pattern and see if he lights s up after shedding. It wouldn't be worth it for a refund since shipping was half his cost. Could he still produce nice pastels if he turns out to be a lower quality?
