Re: Will boiling get rid of wood mites
If they are wood or ceramic, I would bake them for 30 minutes. Kills any bugs. If plastic, I would use either F10 and / or diluted bleach solution. Should kill and disinfect plastic items. Hope this helps.

Wood mites are not a problem for your snake.
I'd go with baking though, it's easier. 180 for 20 mins should do the trick. Kills snake mites on wood too.
I may not be very smart, but what if I am?

What he said ^.
If wood mites concern you, switch to paper-towel or you could bake the substrate as soon as you bring it in and store it in a sealed tub for use later.
I can't guarantee the last bit but, I see no reason why it wouldn't prevent new wood mites from calling your enclosures home.

Will boiling get rid of wood mites
Well I think they are wood mites because my corn snake still eats. Plus I never see them crawling on him, and I don't think he has any bite mark. I saw them beneath his water bowl, and I don't even know how he could have gotten them. Are these wood mites or regular mites?

Re: Will boiling get rid of wood mites
Sounds like wood mites, but a pic would really help. If you are using regular cypress mulch its a good chance they are regular wood mites. The dreaded parasitic mites you get are tiny little black bugs and wood mites can be off white to yellow looking from what I have seen. Hope this helps.

Baking doesn't always work. Only thing for sure that gets rid of them is prevent-a-mite. Stuff is pure gold.
