Bamboo Sticks

Hello, a friend of mine just dropped off a bunch of bamboo sticks. Some of them are still green and some are already brown. How should I sterilize them before putting them in my cresties' cages? And what about the white stuff that is inside these sticks? Thanks.

I would treat them like tree branches and bake them in the oven at 350 for 20-30 mins to kill any bacteria and or tiny bugs in it.

I think the sticks will burn? It's really thin.
