Snake suddenly extremely jumpy/nervous. Ideas?
Hello everyone! I wanted to hold off on posting and see if anything I tried would work... It hasn't.
My 2012 female honeybee is about 250g. I had her in a V18 tub with a hide and water bowl with paper towel as substrate. She was one of my best eaters and while she might hiss from time to time, she was a sweet heart.
About two months ago she started refusing food. She would take the f/t from my tongs and wrap it, but not eat it.
About 4 or 5 weeks ago she started to tense up and "jump" when I would open her tub to check on her, and she was readily striking at me. I moved her into my hatchling rack with 6qt tubs with her hide, water bowl, and some crumpled paper to clutter the tub. I also had my boyfriend make a fabric that we could velcro on to the top of the rack to act as a curtain so it blocks her from seeing out.
It's been a few weeks since moving her and she is still refusing food and being jumpy/nervous.
She isn't cruising the tub or pushing, so I'm hesitant to use the word "stressed," especially when I'm not handling her at all and only clean her tub if she uses the bathroom so I reduce the amount of time she feels insecure.
Anything else I can try?

No she was in that bigger tub for months before this happened. No changes in hot spot or ambient temp. We rearranged the racks a while ago but that was before she went off food

Have you just left it there after she wrapped it?
In all honesty she could just be going through a temperament change. I've seen it happen before.

My firefly male will take items but not eat them and I believe it is because the rat is too big. As soon as I moved the rat down a size he'll eat them no problem. He will constrict the rat but not eat it, if I try to take it out he grabs it again. Try offering something smaller.
Cheers

She was feeding on f/t weaned rats. Since she started refusing I've tried pups and mice, but no luck.
