She's a bluffer--she didn't give me any trouble at all taking those eggs away from her. But she decided to lay right when we were going out of town, so I only got 4 of them in the incubator before we had to leave.
When we got back the next day, this is what I found. I guess she really didn't want me to steal her last two eggs. Really, really.
The final clutch, getting ready to go in the incubator:
For the breeding tubs, or for the egg tubs? That's plain-old vermiculite and water in the egg tubs.
The tub Maureen is sitting in has Sani-chips, which are cut aspen. Sani-chips great for regular usage---clean, low-dust, keeps odors down for a good two or three months of use, even when I'm dumping water in there to up the humidity during sheds. But I have to special order them from LLL, because nobody carries them around here.
I mostly use plain paper for actual breeding, because there's some risk of the chips getting into somebody's vents during mating and causing major problems. It's much harder to keep the tubs clean with paper, because you basically have to throw it out and clean the tub every time anybody pees.
Yeah I use paper in my tubs that's why I was asking. Looking for something easier to use. I've always seen that stuff in people's pictures but never anywhere I could buy it. Lol. Thank you!

Oh, man, no stores near you that carry aspen or cypress or coco husk or anything? Yeah, you can order all that stuff it from LLL, but the shipping is an arm and a leg. Or a lot of times vendors will have it at your local reptile show, and you can stock up.
