    Heat tape/ snake rack question

So I built a rack a few years back and Im not satisfied with it now because some tubs stick and with my other racks they dont. It is okay take off the heat tape from the racks and put them into a new rack? And when I mean taking off I dont mean like ripping out the heat tape and causing damage to the tape itself but cutting the foil tape thats holding the heat tape to the rack.

Supposedly foil tape comes off nice and easy, though I have never had that experience.

But yes, you can use it on another rack, heat tape doesn't care what it's sitting on.

Foil tape DOES NOT WANT TO COME OFF. Though, you'll just be retaping it anyway so, whatever residue left behind is of no concern.

Peel the tape slowly and with a generous amount of patience and you won't have any problems getting it off. I just lastnight removed the heattape from a rack I'm going to rebuild, and it did take a whaile to get all the tape off. But it did come off, and cleanly at that. It may also depend on the brand of foil tape used, as the adhesive will likely vary somewhat.
Where are we going, and why am I in this handbasket?
