just an anecdote i find amusing. my baby bp has yet to discover his hot-side hide is something he can actually get into. he's currently chilling on top after having wedged himself between the hide and the wall of the aquarium. I suppose maybe he just prefers slightly cooler temps than what he found on the floor. on a side note the first thing my mom asked when i sent her pics of him was, "are you sure it can't kill you?"

Does she have a dog? More people are killed by domestic dogs each year than are killed by domestic snakes...

Disclaimer: This is not a slam on dogs. I like dogs; we own four of them. I cannot imagine living in a home without a dog. I'm just stating a statistical fact.

my hot side comprises about a fourth of the tank and ranges from 92 to 88 degrees. I have a thermostatically controlled CHE and UTH so it stays pretty constant.

Sounds good. Maybe your snake just prefers a higher viewpoint.

Thats actually funny, because mine LOVES wedging herself between the glass wall and the hide also. (She does go inside sometimes)
You must be using a lamp, because when the lamp is on she always comes out to bask.
