Baby ball wont go into his new hide

So i decide to buy a new hide for my new baby ball python that i had for a week is the exo terrra cave hide so i put his old hide the half log in the cool side so now he stays in the cool side of the tank any tips if he will use his new hide in the warm side?

They will typically choose the hide they are more comfortable in over a hide that is the right temperature. In your case, I'd replace the half log with a second Exo Terra hide - put one on the warm side and one on the cool side. With his security choices being identical, he'll likely go wherever the temperature is best for him at that time.

That's what I like about the reptile basic hides, they're identical and provide the same sense of security without compromising on heat regulation.

I agree, or get a second (identical) half log if that's what he prefers. It's important to offer the same hides in both the warm and cool zone, just so they don't choose a favorite hide over thermoregulation.

Baby ball wont go into his new hide

I had to literally put my new baby ball python in his hide because he had been in a rack system before he came to my home and he never used hides since the enclosure is a hide in itself. So my new snake really didn't understand that he was suppose to be in there lol. He would just sit outside it. So sometimes you have to show them into the hides.
